How I got the good news…

Back during my endless waiting game, I always wished I knew how the news would come. If it was going to come by phone, for example, there was no need for me to check my email 50 times a day.

But as it happened, it was an email that brought the good tidings.

My agent wrote with news of an interested editor and eventually this developed into my actually getting to book published. In fact, except for a couple of phone call flurries, almost the entire process has been handled by e-mail. I haven’t talked to either my agent or my editor on the phone in ages and I’ve never seen either of them in person. But that hasn’t stopped me from setting up shrines in their honor.
