Origami Yoda arrives

I just made an addition to my Star Wars collection:

Again and again it blows my mind. Thirty years ago I was lying in bed listening to Roscoe Lee Brown tell the story of Star Wars over and over on a cassette tape. Making an outrageous deal with my parents to get that AT-AT. Talking about the Dagobah Playset with another kid in the Ched’s toy aisle. Collecting stickers, action figures, t-shirts, rub-on decals, plastic candy-filled heads, you name it. Pawing through that little Kenner Booklet over and over.

And dying to get a Yoda action figure and unable to find it. Then my grandmother came through.

And now — thanks to the amazingness of Lucasfilm Licensing — I’ve got my book. And it’s dedicated to my grandmother. (And my parents, who did go for the AT-AT deal and many others.)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again here and now: my love of Star Wars is pure and true.
