Hinkleman v. Rinkelmann

Here’s a weird coincidence. I was reading (listening to, actually) The Shadows by George McDonald today. The main character’s name is Ralph Rinkelmann.

I assume he named his character this for the same reason I named mine Hinkleman — to create a hopefully funny contrast.

Rinkelmann is a mortal who has been elected King of the Faeries. Most of the faeries don’t bug him much, but the Shadows — the shadows of men, women and children — can’t seem to leave him alone.
