Pushcart War gets New Yorker Shout-Out!!!

I’m sure you know about that New Yorker Babar article by now.

Well, somehow the author works himself around to making a list of great New York-based Kidlit books.

There’s Stuart Little, East 88th Street, Harriet the Spy and From the Mixed-Up Files. All classics that are still revered and, one assumes, stocked in libraries.

But there was one more book on the list! Jean Merrill’s The Pushcart War!

Well, I hope that reminds some libarians to order it and reminds some folks to find a copy for their kids to read — and to read it themselves if they haven’t.

It is a masterpiece!
