Sam’s Almost Daily Kidlit Trivia Subspecies

What children’s book was inspired by the penguin exhibit at the 1937 World’s Fair?

Answer: Tune in Tomorrow

(I’m going to start withholding the answers and posting them with the next day’s question.)

  1. Well, the obvious answer would be “Mr. Popper’s Penguins.”

I don’t know that to be the case, but I seem to think that it dates to the 30’s or so, and … uhh, … well, … it’s about penguins.

I figure I’m either right or embarrassing myself by jumping on the easy answer.

  2. Well, you’re not embarrassing yourself, but to my knowledge, that’s not the right answer.

An interesting clue is to think of someone who would have been in Paris in the 30s, but later moved to America and co-wrote VERY popular books about a non-penguin.
