Let Stonewall Week Continue!! featuring… The Plot!

I’ve received hundreds* of e-mails asking what happened to Stonewall week? Last week I announced the beginning of a week dedicated to our new book, Stonewall Hinkleman and the Battle of Bull Run. And we had a great post featuring our amazing cover art from Tuesday Mourning! But then … nothing.

Well, friends, I like to think that as long as there’s a kid out there somewhere on vacation with his parents and bored and grumpy and complaining, then Stonewall week will never truly end. It will always be Stonewall week … in our hearts.

So … what is our Civil War Time Travel Extravaganza all about? Well, here’s what it says on the back of the book:

Stonewall Hinkleman (yeah, that’s his real name) can’t stand going to historical reenactments with his parents, who are obsessed with the Civil War.

He has to wear a hot scratchy uniform, march around like an idiot and blow “Charge!” on his bugle. Lame! Whay would Stonewall want to pretend to fight in some old war just because his great-great-great-great-great uncle Cyrus got shot in the butt fighting for the South?

Then, at the reenactment of the Battle of Bull Run, Stonewall finds himself transported back in time to the actual battle — and he’s not alone! Mr. Dupree, an ardent Confederate from Stonewall’s time, has traveled back in time to change the outcome of the whole Civil War.

And then there’s Ashby, Dupree’s rebellious daughter (and Stonewall’s secret crush), who’s traveled to the past by accident. Stonewall needs to use all of his knowledge of the battle, as well as help from Cyrus and Ashby, to stop Dupree and save the course of American history as we know it.

AND HE’S NOT ONE BIT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

  1. Um, what does the asterisk refer to? I can’t find it. I only ask because I’m assuming that’s where you bring the funny.

  2. *Give or take a thousand.
