Heston – The greatest Long John Silver?

Charlton Heston is being remembered today for his roles in the Ten Commandments, Ben Hur and Planet of the Apes.

But he also has a Kidlit credit that’s worth noting: Treasure Island, which that NEA celebrity book site said was his favorite Kidlit book.

Now, it’s been awhile since I saw this movie, which was made in 1990, but I remember really liking the movie and Heston’s version of Long John Silver. One of those perfect actor for the job sort of roles.

  1. Hate to argue with you but Robert Newton (from the 1950 film) could make Heston walk the plank any day.
