Thrift Store Serendipity – Helen Cresswell Audio Book

Wow, the last thing in the world you’d expect to find here in Southwest Virginia – a book on tape version of “The Night Watchmen.”
What a great find – and what a great book! This recording is wonderful, too. It’s read by Stephen Thorne, a BBC veteran, who sounds not unlike Kipper’s buddy Tiger. His voice gives the book the right amount of gravitas — which is to say not too much, but some. You don’t want the tramps to sound like Gandalf, but they’re not comical either.
