Kids books honor former principal

Cece found this story in the newspaper about a principal that died suddenly.

The school community is honoring him by adding more books to the library, which has been dedicated in his honor.

The collection of old familiar literary characters peered out from spotless new covers: Stuart Little, the Great Brain, Black Beauty, the girls of “Little Women” and the chattering duo from “Green Eggs and Ham.” ….

On Friday, during a morning ceremony, the recently renovated library was dedicated to Crawford. An engraved plaque was mounted by the door, and Monterey students sang a song in his honor — “I Need to Read.”
