You got #1 right! Well done

2) I'm pretty sure that was a boy.

3) Merle, however, is a girl and so is the writer. You know the name of this book at least, I'm sure.

4) One of my occasional readers wrote this book, so I'm hoping she at least gets it....

5) That was a trick question. It's not Pinkwater, but it someone else who can make funny from monsters.

1) Leigh

2) A girl ... ummm ... I don't remember her name. How 'bout Mary?

3) ummm ... Hank? Glen? Waylon? (In other words, I don't know.)

4) sigh ...

5) It sounds like Pinkwater to me, but I don't know it. (That's my desperate attempt for partial credit.)

I read the same book this year, I didn't know what he was on about on page 83 nor through the entire book. Something about snakes, giant gas stations, vague aliens and a dramatic play at the end. I gave it 2 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

P.S. Since I put a 1. in my comment, I should have had a 2. or omitted the 1. Ergo, here's another one:

2. In the same book as that of question 1, what is a suitable substitute for a space helmet?

I only know #2, which is that the mushroom planet is actually a moon of Earth.

Here's a Science Fiction kidlit question for everyone but Sam, who already knows the answer:

1. In which book is it implied that plastic fish are a galactic currency?
