review: Going OLD SCHOOL with “Rusty” or “Hello, Kitty!” or “The Wrath of Graypaws”

rusty.jpg

France. 1955. Rusty the puppy goes to school.

Basically, Rusty is a goody-two-shoes eager to please Madam Graypaws: “Rusty is learning fast and is sure to get a gold star today.”

That’s why Inky steals the show!

While Rusty is cute and cuddly, Inky, and his partner in crime, Puff, are a couple of naughty little kittens.

“Ha, ha,” tease Puff and Inky…
Rusty, meanwhile, helps his little friends across the street.

Madam Greypaws is doing a slow burn. One of these days, kids, Madam Graypaws is going to lose it! From her looks, today might be that day!

Who do you want to be when that Madam brings down the hammer? A sweet puppy or a naughty kitten?

Rusty Goes to School is by Pierre Probst, translated by Ann Weingarden and published as a Little Golden Book in 1962.
